These families received care at Valika Hospital through an aid program run by the labor ministry. Many of the parents of children infected with HIV are low-income factory workers.

For years, Pakistan has seen cases of children infected with HIV due to unsafe treatment in clinics and hospitals. A current outbreak numbers hundreds of cases. Why does this problem keep occurring?
