Located where StarTech used to be at on Caraway Road in Jonesboro, TeleTech officials excited those in attendance by announcing they would be hiring more than the 100 people initially brought on to the company. Senior Vice President of TeleTech Todd Baxter.
“It was no secret that our initial commitment to the community was 150 jobs. That is what we announced when we said we were going to come here,” said Baxter. “I am pleased to tell you today that we reached agreements with another healthcare partner. So, we are going to grow to over 300 employees by January first.”
Members of the community and some of the 100 employees that have already been hired erupted in applause when that announcement was made. Baxter continued, “We have a lot of opportunities to continue to grow, and we could grow even more than 300 employees in the future. We believe this is what the market can support.”
Executive Director of the Arkansas Department of Economic Development Grant Tennille commented on the news yesterday.
“This kind of employment is a great fit for so many different people. That is really our goal. When we look for deals, we look for the opportunity to get Arkansans employed. That is why we are here today. I want to thank everybody at TeleTech for their faith. I can promise you there are hardworking people who are diligent and friendly, which is exactly what you need in your business. You will get that in Jonesboro.”
TeleTech officials said many of the 100 workers that have already been hired are being trained. Job fairs will take place today and tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to continue to fill openings.
