Craighead County Quorum Court approves grant money

The Craighead County Quorum Court has approved an amendment to the 2016 budget that would allow for grant money to be accepted by the county and used as directed.   

The money is broken down for different Craighead County Courts as follows: $30,938 for the Mental Health Court; $27,435 for Accountability Court, Veterans Diversion Fund; $24,458 for DWI Court, $64,000 for Adult Drug Court and $30,935 for Crittenden County’s Mental Health Court. 

The funds approved are considered to be special revenues and come from the Arkansas Community Corrections Grant Program for drug, DWI, and mental illness treatment. 

That was approved by the all members of the Craighead County Quorum Court, expect for Justice Josh Longmire.  Longmire abstained from voting on the issue.

Upon graduation from Arkansas State University in 1996 with a degree in Radio-Television Broadcast News, he decided that he wanted to stay in radio news. He moved to Stuttgart, Arkansas and worked for East Arkansas Broadcasters as news director and was there for 16 years.
