AHTD approves Craighead, Lawrence County Improvements

The Arkansas State Highway Commission has approved a bid for improvements to a roadway in Craighead and Lawrence Counties, according to Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD)
officials.

The purpose of this project is to install wire rope safety fence on 18 miles of U.S. Highway 67 from State Highway 226 northward to U.S. Highway 412.

Nationwide Construction Group of Chesterfield, MI was awarded the contract at $2,548,107.25.
Construction is scheduled to begin in two to four weeks, weather permitting. Completion is
expected in late 2016.
