2 Public Hearings Scheduled in Jonesboro for Fair Housing Funding

Pixabay

The City of Jonesboro’s Grants and Community Development Department is conducting an analysis of impediments to fair housing.  Two public hearings will be held and your participation is requested.

Community participation must occur in the development of the analysis and the City is required to take into consideration the views and recommendations of the community.

The analysis is a new funding requirement for the City’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) 5-Year Consolidated Plan, and will, in large part, drive the development of the Consolidated Plan.  Data and comments collected will be used in the development of a five-year ‘Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing’ plan.

The hearings will be held:

  • Monday July 11 @ 5:30 p.m. - E. Boone Watson Community Center- 1005 Logan Street
  • Monday, July 18 @ 3:00 p.m. - Municipal Building (1st Floor) - 300 S. Church Street

Once approved, the plan will be used in the CDGB 5-year Consolidated Plan as well as Jonesboro’s Annual Action Plan and other federal grants.
