Voters in Arkansas Senate District 21 have a short time to register to vote in primary

Citizens in Jonesboro and much of Craighead County who want to vote in the Arkansas Senate District 21 primary election have a very short time to register to vote.  The Primary election will take place October 8th, however, the last day for residents to register to vote is this Monday, September 9th.  Early voting for the primary occurs October first through the 7th.  The Primary Run-off will be held November 12th and the General Election for the seat is January 14th.  Early voting will take place a week before the elections and will only take place during business hours from eight to five.  There will be no Saturday voting.  Three Republicans and two Democrats have filed so far for the seat, which was vacated by former State Senator Paul Bookout.  Bookout resigned his seat over ethics violations.
