Two-year Colleges Group has been renamed

The Arkansas Association of Two-year Colleges has renamed itself as the “Arkansas Community Colleges.”

The group is the trade association and lobbying arm for 22 community colleges across Arkansas.

The group’s web site said, “We are the same Association you have known since 1989, but we have a fresh new look that we are excited to share with you. Starting October 12, 2014, upon the kickoff of our 26th annual conference, we are officially representing our members as ‘Arkansas Community Colleges’ to better reflect their diverse missions.”

“A lot has changed in the last 25 years. Community colleges are front-and-center in statewide conversations about economic development and social mobility. Our state’s political and business leaders view community colleges as the key to educating and training our citizens, and to meeting the workforce demands of industry. Because of the work our member colleges do every day, Arkansas has a bright future,” said Arkansas Community Colleges executive director Bill Stovall.
