Schools in the state receive letter grades for performance

Students in Arkansas are not the only ones that receive report cards.  Schools across the state are also receiving letter grades for their students’ performance on statewide math and literacy tests. Other factors include graduation rates, progress toward student performance goals, and how schools are helping in working on reducing achievement gaps.  Arkansas News reports that 162 schools in the state received an A, 321 schools received a B, 366 schools received a C, 160 schools a D, and 43 schools received a failing grade.  According to the report that was released yesterday by the Arkansas Department of Education, five Craighead County schools received an A, nine schools had Bs, there were 16 C’s, and six D’s.  A complete list is available here.
