Public warned about scam involving jury duty

  The Craighead County Circuit Clerk tells KASU news about a scam involving jury duty.  The following is from Candace Edwards' office:

On 2/17/2016 Craighead County Circuit Clerk Candace Edwards was notified of an apparent scam dealing with jury duty. 

  

The phone call claims that the individual contacted had been selected for jury duty and did not appear. The individual states they are with the Craighead County Sheriff’s Department or other law enforcement agencies.  The individual mentions that there has been a warrant issued by the Honorable Judge Ed Hill.  They state that you will need to pay a fine or you will be arrested.  

 

You will never be contacted over the phone to collect money for missing jury duty.
