Planners to view Hilltop development plans

The Metropolitan Area Planning Commission is to view plans for a mixed-use development on Hilltop in Jonesboro.  The 201-acre project is called Greensborough Village.  The Sun Newspaper reports the project would consist of single family, multifamily, commercial and institutional development.  The plan reportedly includes 200 single-family lots on the north and south sides of Greensboro road, as well as commercial development and multifamily housing.  Commercial development is expected to be located closer to East Johnson Avenue.  Jonesboro businessman Mickey Seeman will present plans tomorrow night, and is expected to request the entire property be zoned to a new category that would be called Town Center Overlay District.  If approved by the Planning Commission, the zoning request would have to go before the Jonesboro City Council for final approval.  If approval is gained, there is no word as to when construction on the projects would start.
