Jonesboro Finance Committee forwards several projects to city council

The Jonesboro City Council’s Finance Committee forwarded several items to the full council for next week’s meeting.  Among those items is an agreement for the 2015 Outdoor Recreation Grant Program, which would be used at Craighead Forest Park in Jonesboro.  The grant would allow for outdoor workout stations located along the two mile trail that surrounds the lake at Craighead Forest Park, as well as bike racks and other amenities.  Pending approval by the full council, work on making additions to the park could start as early as this year.  Other resolutions include a 2016 STEP grant for law enforcement, an agreement with the United Way to lease space at 407 South Union, and the creation of a finance office manager position within the city.
