The Jonesboro City Council is reviewing next year’s budget during a special council meeting Monday night.

Jonesboro Mayor Harold Perrin says the review is necessary, especially since over 12 million dollars has been pulled from the city’s reserves for various projects and the adjusted salaries for city workers.  The city has 22 million dollars remaining in reserves.

During last night's meeting, Perrin told the council he will join the city’s Chief Financial Officer Suzanne Allen in making the presentation to aldermen.  The presentation will focus on where the city is right now and what projected revenue the city should get in 2017.

The special city council meeting will be held Monday night at 5:30 at the City Council Chambers.
