Jonesboro Chief Operations Officer Resigns Again

Chief Operations Officer for the city of Jonesboro L. M. Duncan has again resigned from his office.  The Jonesboro Sun reports Mayor Harrold Perrin sent an email to department heads on Wednesday about Duncan’s departure.

Duncan returnedas COO in late June to help the city after the May 24th flooding disaster.  As COO, Duncan oversees all city departments with mobile operations including the Streets, Sanitation, and Parks & Recreation Departments.

The former Bono mayor had retired from his 5 and a half year run as COO for about a month before to returning to the city.  Duncan told the Sun that his return was meant to be temporary and that it was time for him to leave.

Perrin says he has interviewed a finalist and plans to have the position filled in a couple of days.
