Jonesboro A&P Commissioner Thom Beasley dies

  The Chairman of the Jonesboro A&P Commission was found dead in his home.  Thom Beasley was on the commission for the past 10 years, and was instrumental in bringing a convention center to Jonesboro.  

 

The City of Jonesboro released a statement from Mayor Harold Perrin regarding the death of Jonesboro businessman and Advertising and Promotions chairman Thom Beasley:

 

“I was saddened to hear the news about Thom. Thom was a good friend and a true public servant of the City of Jonesboro who tried to help everyone he could. My prayers and thoughts are with his family, as well as his associates at Farm Bureau.”

 

Beasley was a member of the A&P Commission for 10 years. He started in June 2006 and was appointed chairman in November 2012.  Funeral arrangements have not been made at this time.  

Johnathan Reaves is the News Director for KASU Public Radio. As part of an Air Force Family, he moved to Arkansas from Minot, North Dakota in 1986. He was first bitten by the radio bug after he graduated from Gosnell High School in 1992. While working on his undergraduate degree, he worked at KOSE, a small 1,000 watt AM commercial station in Osceola, Arkansas. Upon graduation from Arkansas State University in 1996 with a degree in Radio-Television Broadcast News, he decided that he wanted to stay in radio news. He moved to Stuttgart, Arkansas and worked for East Arkansas Broadcasters as news director and was there for 16 years.
