Johnny Cash Music Festival Special to be aired on TV

The Johnny Cash Music Festival, a concert filmed at last year’s inaugural event, is scheduled to air on three networks this summer. The one hour special, which stars Rosanne Cash, John Carter Cash, Kris Kristofferson, George Jones, Rodney Crowell and more, is a blend of music and stories about the Man in Black. It will air on RFD TV on July 26th at 7:00 pm ET and again on July 28th at 6:00 pm ET. GAC will air the special on July 28th at 8:00 pm ET and again at midnight. PBS affiliates will also air the program during the summer -- check local listings for all PBS airdates.

On July 31st , both the Johnny Cash Music Festival 2011 DVD and a special live CD will be available in stores and online. Both will feature performances by Rosanne Cash, Kristofferson, Jones and other special guest stars (see complete CD track listing below). Proceeds from sales of both the DVD and CD will go to the Johnny Cash Childhood Home Project.

The television special as well as the release of the DVD and CD will set the stage for the second annual event, which is scheduled for October 5, 2012 at 7:00 pm on the campus of Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. This year’s event stars Willie Nelson, Dierks Bentley, the Civil Wars and Cash’s daughter Rosanne Cash.
