JETS service for Rockabilly Boogiefest in Jonesboro

This is a press release from the Jonesboro Economical Transportation System:

This Saturday afternoon/evening (March 2nd) JETS will be providing special Express Fixed Route service between Downtown Jonesboro and the Rockabilly Boggiefest event taking place at the ASU Armory.  The Rockabilly Boogiefest Express will serve two JETS stops, the stop on Huntington between Main Street and Church Street that serves Downtown Jonesboro’s entertainment district and the stop at the intersection of on Aggie Road and University Loop West/Marion Berry Parkway that is immediately adjacent to the venue for the Rockabilly Boggiefest.

The Rockabilly Boogiefest Express will operate with one bus between 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. and will provide service between Downtown Jonesboro’s entertainment district and the ASU Armory every 30 minutes (see the schedule below). Beginning at 6:30 p.m., JETS will add another bus to the Rockabilly Boogiefest Express and the service will connect Downtown Jonesboro and the ASU Armory every 15 minutes.  This expanded service will continue until 12:30 a.m. (see schedule below).

Fares for JETS Rockabilly Boogiefest Express will be the same as for JETS regular weekly Fixed Route service.  The regular adult fare for a one-way trip is $1.25.  Students presenting a current college/university or local public school ID ride one-way for $.90 and the one-way fare for senior citizens and those who have a handicap is $.60.  JETS Fixed Route buses have wheel chair lifts and can accommodate two wheelchair passengers at a time.

Johnathan Reaves is the News Director for KASU Public Radio. As part of an Air Force Family, he moved to Arkansas from Minot, North Dakota in 1986. He was first bitten by the radio bug after he graduated from Gosnell High School in 1992. While working on his undergraduate degree, he worked at KOSE, a small 1,000 watt AM commercial station in Osceola, Arkansas. Upon graduation from Arkansas State University in 1996 with a degree in Radio-Television Broadcast News, he decided that he wanted to stay in radio news. He moved to Stuttgart, Arkansas and worked for East Arkansas Broadcasters as news director and was there for 16 years.
