FMH Conveyors Expansion to Create Jobs in Jonesboro

FMH Conveyors will be expanding their Jonesboro operations to the new lot on Highland Drive.   The announcement was made at Wednesday’s unveiling ceremony at the Hames Room in the Arkansas State University Convocation Center.

Company officials announced they will invest $12.5 million in a new 195-thousand square foot facility.  The expansion is expected to create 110 new jobs for the region.

“It would be permanent jobs.  A variety of positions that are related to the movement of two existing operations in two other states to this location.”

FMH Conveyors President Kurt Huelsman said.  “They expand from assembly operators, to skilled workforce, to professional services, and management.”

Huelsman says the current FMH facility located on Flint Street has about 60 workers.  He says that workforce will move into the new facility when it is completed.

Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson also attended the announcement.  He said he was a “fan” of FMH and he admired how they were “unwaveringly convinced” to expand in Jonesboro instead of closing the factory.

“As Governor, I’m also ‘unwaveringly convinced’ of Jonesboro’s future; of the dynamic economy in Northeast Arkansas that you have, and how that’s going to make a difference,” said Hutchinson. “I’m delighted to support you in that effort.”

This announcement comes after Hutchinson’s visit last week at the Interstate 555 dedication in Jonesboro.

Huelsman said he expects construction to begin as soon as next week and for the company to begin operating out of the new factory in about 6 months.
