Craighead County IT working on data storage, backup

Craighead County's IT data storage and recovery system. A duplicate system is to be placed in Lake City next year.

Making room for more data and backing up that information.  Those are the goals for the Craighead County Information Technology Department.  Network Administrator Brad Nelson told the Craighead County Quorum Court that $75,000 is being spent to provide more data storage for the county’s network and to increase speed. Additionally, the IT department has been working on backing up that information, in the event that a natural disaster occurs or servers crash.  Tower crews are installing equipment today in Lake City and at the county road department to help in the backup process.  Next year, an additional $150,000 is expected to be spent on data recovery and duplicate networks that are in place in Jonesboro to help safely secure all information.  The data recovery sites will be located temporarily in Lake City and could be permanently located in the Craighead County jail.
