Beatlemania Hits Arkansas, Again! - Episode 9/10

Once upon a time, four very famous men stopped by a small town in Northeast Arkansas and changed the reputation of the town forever.

The four very famous men, of course, are The Beetles and the small town is Walnut Ridge.  This very popular musical group has apparently generated a ton of other great artistic events taking place around the Natural State for the 9/16 weekend.

In this week's episode, Travel Writer Kim Williams takes you to celebration of The Beetles invasion of Northeast Arkansas.  Also, Williams will tell you about a special tour of Arkansas artists studios the whole family can enjoy.

Plus in this episode, discover how one Arkansas town is using pumpkins to get us ready for the Fall season, and a fun geocaching scavenger hunt in a town filled with interesting history.

Featured towns include Mountain View, Piggott, Walnut Ridge, and Pocahontas.

A graduate of the radio-television program at A-State, Mark Smith earned his degree in broadcasting in 1986 and received a Master of Public Administration in 2015. He actually started in radio in 1982, just out of high school, with a part-time summer job at KBXM, a small AM station in Kennett, Mo. After his freshman year at Arkansas State, he landed another summer job at KBOA/KTMO in Kennett and continued to work weekends there while attending college.
