Preparations are well underway for the annual Veterans Day Parade in downtown Jonesboro on Saturday, November 11, 2017. The Parade is coordinated by the Craighead County Veterans Monument Foundation (CCVMF), the umbrella group for area Veteran organizations.
But there is still time to enter a float, automobile, or walking unit in this year’s parade. There is no charge for a parade entry.
Marvin Jumper, the president of CCVMF, said, “Last year’s Parade had more than 60 entries, and we hope to meet or exceed that number this year.”
Business entities, community organizations, schools, churches who want to participate in the Parade can do that in a number of ways. The easiest way is to go to the CCVMF website http://www.craigheadcountyveterans.org/veterans-day.html and fill in the on-line form for a Parade entry.
If an organization has questions, a representative of that group is asked to contact either Marvin Jumper at (870) 761-2735 or Major Brian Mason at (870) 680-8064, both members of CCVMF.
Those interested in entering the parade also can email firstname.lastname@example.org for information.
Groups or organizations wanting to enter the Parade are asked to provide the following information: Name of organization, a contact name, contact phone number, and a brief description of the parade entry.
On the day of the Parade, a representative from each parade unit should check in at the corner of Oak and Church Streets between 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. At that time, the parade unit will be advised of its pre-parade starting position.
